EasyLunchBoxes Review

Disclaimer: This is an unpaid review. I have purchased several EasyLunchBoxes products in the past and the company was nice enough to send me a few sample products for an event I hosted for my daughter’s school, some of which are pictured in this review. I will receive a very small percentage from Amazon if you purchase through the links in this post. All opinions are my own!

Now that we’re a week into August, I think it’s safe to say we’re in Back to School season! This school year I will be going into the second year of my Master’s program, Patrick will be going into the last semester of his undergraduate degree, and Saff will be going into KINDERGARTEN! It’s exciting and terrifying all at the same time. Between school and internships, our family is going to be packing a lot of lunches this year, so I thought I’d share my thoughts on one of my favorite lunch containers.

EasyLunchboxes were the very first bento-style container that I bought and they are still one of my favorites! I stumbled upon them in a blog post and just loved the way they made the food look so organized and appealing. At the time, I had been packing my (then) 3-year-old three separate containers in her lunch bag, meaning that she had to keep track of SIX separate pieces. They were always going missing and I was in need of a better solution.

EasyLunchBoxes sells their containers in sets of 4, which is convenient for packing lunches ahead of time. In addition to the bento-style containers, the company also sells Mini Dippers—small, leak proof containers to go inside of the lunch boxes. These are great for dips, salad dressing, yogurt, and applesauce. I also highly recommend the EasyLunchboxes Insulated Lunch Box Cooler Bags which hold the containers flat.

The Basics

Price: $13.95 for a set of 4 on EasyLunchBoxes.com; price varies on Amazon; *Currently available at Target for Back to School 2017!*

Material: Plastic

Dimensions: 9.38″ x 6.1″ x 2″

Volume: 3.75 cups total (large section holds 2.5 cups; medium section holds ¾ cup; small section holds ½ cup)

Favorite Features:

  • They are easy for little kids to open. The lids fits securely on the containers, but my daughter (5-years-old) can easily open and close these on her own.
  • They are lightweight. This means my 5-year-old can carry her lunch to school on her own. You know how your kids tend to hand you ALL of their stuff when they get tired of carrying it? That rarely happens when she has these in her lunch bag.
  • They have ONE lid and ONE bottom. Before I started using EasyLunchBoxes, I would pack three separate containers meaning that my preschool-aged child had to keep track of six separate pieces that would constantly go missing. Since we started using EasyLunchBoxes, this hasn’t been a problem at all!
  • They are very sturdy. We have had our EasyLunchBoxes for about two and a half years, use them several times a week for school/camp/work/weekend outings and they are still in great condition!
  • They are easy to wash. Because these containers have only three (rounded) compartments, there are no little corners for food to get stuck in. They are also dishwasher-safe.
  • They fit enough food for kids or adults. I use these to pack my lunch for work and school, as well as for the whole family when we go on day trips.
  • Kelly is amazing! The mom and CEO behind EasyLunchBoxes is so wonderful. She constantly interacts with her customers on social media and is incredibly nice.
